What are you doing?

Jesus only did, what He saw You do,
He would only say, what He heard You speak.
He would only move, when Ye felt you lead
following Your heart following Your spirit

How could I expect to walk without You
when every move that Jesus made was in surrender.

This song came on my ipod today, I have heard and sung this song SO many times, but today it laid heavy on my heart!
We have a major mandate on our lives as Christians, We read in Matthew 28:18-20 – we are called to GO! So often we are unsure about where to go, who to go to and when to go. But why?
When we read about the life of Jesus, we read that He only did what He saw the Father do.

For me, that is not always true. Sometimes I do things because it seems like a good idea, or I get involved in projects or ministries because there is a need. Sometimes I volunteer out of the frustration that no one else is doing anything!!

I have to think that this will burn me out, it will not only do me a dis-service, but also the church. It will not allow other people to step up and it will stagnate whatever it is!
I do not want to be part of a church where only 5% of the family are involved in things, I do not want to be part of a church where the community only knows the pastors or the leaders.
I want to be part of a church where everyone is doing what God has called them to do – nothing more and nothing less!

  • Are there things that you are doing that you know you should not be doing?
  • Are you spreading yourself to thin?
  • Is God calling you to get involved in something and you are not involved?

My prayer is that I would go when God says go, I would speak when God says speak and I would move when God says move!
